Parents sue over substandard nurse classes | Bangkok Post: news

Parents of two nursing graduates sued Christian University Tuesday for admitting students to its nursing courses for the 2017/2018 academic year despite the fact the degrees had not been approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC). Nittayayuk Chuenchomjit and Suksan Wisetso visited the Central Administrative Court to file the suit, claiming the university has provided their children with substandard bachelor's degrees. According to the NMC's standard, the student-teacher ratio for nursing programmes must be at least 6:1, but the ratio at Christian University in 2017 was 15.39:1. The NMC committee later ordered the university to stop admitting new students to its nursing courses until the problem was resolved. The Bangkok Post contacted Christian University for comment but it declined to reply.
